THE MOVEMENT

Knowledge Transformation Satisfaction JOY

The Closet Collaborative is committed to developing personal style as a joyful form of self care. Self care is creating a daily life that sustains and nourishes you. When it comes to wardrobe and style, this means spending time to develop a clear framework that will help you target garments that will be easy to wear, serve your needs, and bring joy to your life.

This framework disrupts socialized behavior around clothing consumption. The need to endlessly consume and dispose of clothing is transformed into a deep, lasting satisfaction with your personal style and wardrobe. We seek knowledge, provide care, and change our behavior.

Our members have access to style courses, regular style content including a monthly newsletter, quarterly style challenges and debriefs, expert speakers, workshops, community Zoom check-ins, and more.

ABOUT ROSANA

Rosana Vollmerhausen (she/her)  is founder of The Closet Collaborative, and Style Partner for all members inside the group.

Rosana has 15 years’ fashion retail and styling experience, including owning, running and buying for an award-winning boutique in Washington, D.C.  She was subsequently handpicked to be part of Stacy London’s team of Style for Hire wardrobe consultants. She launched  DC Style Factory more than 10 years ago, transforming thousands of wardrobes. She developed and honed an organized system of closet, shopping, and styling appointments designed to save her clients time and money.

” Rosana is a genius – there is no question. Even though I consider myself a fairly put-together person with reasonable taste, she elevates my style 100 percent. In a myriad of ways both large and small, she makes everything better – from fit to proportion to things far more intangible, like coolness and effortlessness. She is warm and engaging, a joyful soul who is so fun to work with you will want her to move in and dress you every day.” – Kristen, tech consultant.

Rosana now teaches these tried-and-true methods as part of step-by-step comprehensive closet, style strategy, shopping, and outfit creation courses inside The Closet Collaborative.

As a style expert, She has lead style talks and workshops in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. She has produced personal stylist training seminars, teaching and advising future stylists. Her style tips, and expertise have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Washingtonian, Bethesda Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, The Boston Globe and more. She has provided expert style insight on BBC World News,  NPR, WJLA News Channel 7, and NBC News Channel 4.

“My closet was once a revolving door of clothing – in and out, in and out. The cycle was never ending and therefore, never deeply satisfying. I believe a joyful personal style and wardrobe is accessible to all of us. It comes from understanding and caring for your body, your space, your community, and yourself.”
