Spring is here which means the warmer temps are headed our way (soon I hope!). Time to think about adding a pair of white jeans into your spring rotation, right? First, I want to be clear that white jeans are not an essential in my book. I think they are not the easiest to wear in a flattering way. But, if I set aside my Scrooge-y attitude about them, I have to admit that white jeans brighten up many all-season tops in your closet. For example, a stripe boatneck top has a very different feel when it is paired with white jeans versus dark ones.
- Instead of sizing down, which we do for many jeans these days because of stretch, try going up one size. Unlike dark denim, white denim shows everything. Going up a size — or sticking with your true size — will ensure you don’t look like you are wearing white leggings, which isn’t a good look for anyone.
- White jeans should always feel a bit relaxed and a little beachy. Try a straight leg instead of a skinny that you can roll or large cuff to create your own cropped summer look.
- I love a cropped white denim, but I will say, the full length styles carry you into fall and winter and I am all about lowering that cost per wear whenever I can! White jeans are perfect with a chunky sweater and ankle boots.
- Look for jeans that have a little weight to the fabric so you don’t actually see skin through it!
